Jessica Ackerley's PAIN is a series of solo guitar compositions and improvisations written during various recovery periods from accidents and surgeries that she underwent this past year. The music draws from angular knotty melodies and long distorted drones with nods to metal and noir soundscapes. It also draws from inspiration of horror and gore through the images of the recovery periods, and during live performances, features abstracted pictures of the mutilated parts of the body from the various incidents that occurred.
